When it comes to taking photos of your dog, you do not have to spend big. Most budget digital cameras will be more than capable to take the beautiful photos that you desire. Knowing this, we have also provided a list of 5 tips that will assist anyone who is wanting to take stunning photos of their dog.

Tip 1 – Keep Their Attention

Anyone who owns a dog will understand that they can get very easily distracted. So, if you are trying to do conduct a dog photoshoot, you will have to do everything in your power to keep their attention. We have found that the best way to do this is by bribing them with either treats or a toy so that they will remain still for the duration of the shoot. Using one of these distractions you should be able to get your pet to look directly into the camera and get a clear shot.

Tip 2 – Think About Your Setup

The location of your photoshoot is your choice and may depend on what type of pet you have but still have a few tips to assist you. If you are taking photos outside, perhaps in a park or on a beach, you may wish to keep your dog on a leash (if suitable) so that they will be unable to run around and extend the length of your photoshoot. We recommend bringing an assistant (someone to help) so that you can focus on the photography side while they take care of your pet. If you are inside, we recommend using white backgrounds to your shots so that your subject really stands out.

Using your camera to focus directly into their eyes will help you to capture a clear, pin-sharp photo. It will show the character of your pet while emphasising the emotional aspect of the image.
